No sé ustedes, pero considerando que esta canción fue escrita por adultos para un público infantil y adolescente, el mensaje me resulta muy claro. Mi interpretación es que se trata de un descarado mensaje en contra de la movilidad social. Si eres un pobre desafortunado, quédate tal cual. Si eres un middle class, quédate tal cual. Si eres un high class, quédate tal cual. Y si pretenden cambiar algo, “we gotta get things back where they belong”. Por favor, si estoy demasiado paranoico, avísenme.

yep…ponganle un poco mas de ojo al asunto. Esta bien tratar de ver bien entre lineas, pero peor es ver cosas donde no las hay. Minimo ver la pelicula, ver el contexto y despues establecer el jucio o se corre el riesgo de quedar como ignorante. En cuanto a lo que comenta giancarlo, se puede interpretar como que “En el fondo eres algo que eres en sí, pero lo ocultamos, lo negamos por aparentar cosas que no somos”

No vi a pelicula pero despues de este alarmante articulo revise el video de a cancion en youtube. El video se trata de varios chicos que hacen cosas “no cool” (uno hace postres, a otra es una gordita que le gusta el hip hop, y el otro es un chico que estudia el cello) a quienes la masa de “tipos cool” les cantan esta cancion. El mensaje de parece ser todo lo contrario de lo que los lectores han interpretado (quizas corrctamente pero fuera de contexto), y el mensaje final es mas bien “no seas un idiota y no dejes que a presion social te impida hacer las cosas que te gustan”.

Es decir, claramente la cancion dice “si quieres ser aceptado y cool, no hagas nada contra el status quo”, pero a mi me parece que el mensaje mas fuerte es “no dejes tus pasiones por tratar de ser cool”.
