El apogeo del Britpop que se dio durante los años 90 nos trajo una serie de canciones y bandas que se han vuelto clásicas con el paso del tiempo. Pegajosas melodías, grandiosos solos de guitarra, panderos marcando ritmos y voces memorables, fueron algunas de las características que varias bandas adoptaron durante el Britpop.
Ahora, redactores de la revista NME y algunas celebridades se dieron a la tarea de armar un top 100 de las mejores canciones del Britpop, subgénero musical que se puede decir que fue protagonizado por la rivalidad que hubo muuuchos años entre los hermanos Gallagher y Damon Albarn.
De acuerdo con la no siempre confiable Wikipedia, el Britpop se puede definir como: “Subgénero del rock alternativo que surge en el Reino Unido con la escena musical británica independiente de principios de los años 90. Las bandas Britpop se caracterizan por estar altamente influenciadas por la música pop británica de los años 60 y 70″ (¿así o más claro?).
